Glossary of Learning Terms > P > Pre-Test and Post-Test

Tests or evaluations that are given to learners prior to learning (pre-test) or after the learning experience (post-test). A test or evaluation given to learners prior to learning. A pre-test identifies what skills and knowledge the learners have before training to better determine what content is required, and in some cases directs the path a learner takes through an e-learning program. A post-test identifies what skills and knowledge the learner has gained from training and what gaps, if any, still exist.
