These results were used to create a new three-part competency model (salesforce, sales leadership, and sales enablement) covering all key roles in the sales ecosystem. This webinar is about a series of engaging and effective card games that deliver activities-based, results-oriented training. The games use a deck of 52 cards, each with a piece of practical advice related to a specific interpersonal skill such as building trust or leading a team. Each card is self-contained, evidence-based, and useful.

While you can read the advice on each card and implement it at work and home, what makes this training tool effective and engaging is the collection of 20 different games. These games can be played by different numbers of people (from 1 to 100) and last for different periods of time (from 10 minutes to 52 weeks). The games require the players to take a piece of advice and analyze it, apply it, challenge it, critique it, discuss it, evaluate it, explain it, and use it to solve problems. In other words, the games encourage in-depth analysis of important guidelines and mindful planning for their application.

Objectives:

  • Design a deck of practical advice cards on a topic of your own choice.

  • Learn useful principles and procedures by playing different games with practical advice cards.

How can companies capture and transfer that knowledge to an increasingly younger workforce?

Discussion topics:

  • Effectiveness of learning types.

  • The need for more informal channels.

  • After the Classroom.

  • Keys to knowledge transfer.

Thursday, June 25, 2015,11AM – 12PM PT: Leadership Is Half the Story (Free for ATD members)

Can you imagine a choreographer training only one dancer to lead while his or her partner sits in the lobby staring at the wall? Unthinkable? Yet this happens all the time within organizations. Half the partnership is missing!

There is a notion that everyone should be a leader all the time and, if leadership is so game-changing, we must need more of it from everyone, all the time. In fact, research shows that it takes both roles—leadership AND followership—to get the best results. They are equally valuable. Leadership is one half of a partnership.

The facilitators offer a host of new ideas and practical advice from their exciting new book Leadership is Half the Story: A Fresh Look at Followership, Leadership and Collaboration. It will change how you think about leadership development.

Have tons of asynchronous learning out there that no one’s using? You’re not alone. There’s been a trend that “more is better.” And so over the years, we have “stuffed” the clouds and taken a “Build it and they will come” mentality.

Without the proper support system, all of our efforts are turning into virtual “space junk.” Start at the beginning and determine whether asynchronous learning is right for your learning situation. Learn the challenges (some of you may already painfully know) and how to craft a support system that leads the learners to this mode of learning, facilitates their learning, and enables them to transfer this new knowledge back on the job.

Objectives:

  • Identify when asynchronous learning is appropriate.

  • Tie asynchronous learning to the learner’s current performance.

  • Develop a process to support the learner before, during, and after the asynchronous learning event.
